Our society, especially in the USA, has to radically change our mindset on aging from one of dread and fear (which even a rudimentary understanding of mind/body psychology proves will only bring to you exactly what you fear) to one of embracing our aging, recognizing the different needs we require and being proud of what wisdom we have to share. This book is a great resource for how to start!In fact, I just bought my "old cowboy" dad (who lives in Western Nebraska and has NEVER done yoga or drank kombucha - tho he might like that it's fermented;), a copy for Father's Day. Why? First off, Elise does a great job of explaining how Neuroscience confirms what Ayurveda and other holistic philosophies have practiced for hundreds of years. Also, he will appreciate the gist of the author is proposing - that by honoring our age, we can adjust our limitations (especially the mental ones) and allow the passing of time to become an celebrated advantage. That shift then brings prosperity not just to our livelihoods, but for those who live around us - which is a very special gift indeed!

This book is an intriguing mix of Eastern philosophy, Western science, and personal experiences - all focused on aging gracefully in our modern world.I enjoy having someone as knowledgable as the author “demystify” Ayurveda for me. Most significant is its emphasis on small, continuous improvements and making changes that are so easy you can’t say no, thus making intentional, long term and positive change seem not only possible, but inevitable! I loved it and will be super aging!

This was worth the read. This is the kind of book you come back to ... great organizational style, tone and insights throughout. I liked that most of the information is presented as 'ideas to explore.' My biggest take away is how critical it is to stay engaged, curious and well rested.

Incredibly researched and informative book. I read it and gave it to my parents to read. My Mom who is 74 loved it and is already putting tips into her daily regime. It is a super easy read and I will keep it out to reread tips for implementation in my daily life.
